The Cantonment Board St.Thomas Mount cum Pallavaram established in the year 1774, is the second oldest Cantonment in the country. It is located 18kms away from the Central Railway Station. The total area of Cantonment is 2892.82 acres. It is basically divided into three locations namely St.Thomas Mount, Meenambakkam and Pallavaram.

Education Qualification:-

I. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) and 02 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known);
2. Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
