The Indian Institute of Astrophysics, with its headquarters in Bengaluru, is an autonomous research institute wholly financed by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. IIA conducts research primarily in the areas of astronomy, astrophysics and related fields.

Job description: Software coding for instrumentation in C, C++, Python and cross-platform GUI. Upkeep and maintenance of computer, routers, network switches, LAN, archiving of important research data, back up of all important software, and will also be associated with developmental activities.

Qualification:

Essential: Three years full time course in Diploma in Computer Science/IT or Bachelors of
Computer Application (BCA) with minimum of 60% marks from Central/State Government/ AICTE recognized Institute or B.E/B.Tech. in Computer Engineering with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a govt. recognized university/institution.

Desirable: Higher educational qualification with expertise in embedded system, precision control system, exposure to embedded C programming.
Experience:-

Essential: Minimum three year experience after diploma or degree in a leading National Laboratory / Research Institute, of which 2 years in High Altitude above 11000 ftamsl (feet above mean sea level). Involvement in cross-platform GUI software development based on Java/ Python/C/C++/.NET, software testing and integration, using data analysis tools and web development with latest technologies. Proficiency in unix/linux operating system, network management and security.

Desirable: Embedded programming in C and C# for PIC, PSoC and Arduino microcontrollers. Expertise in embedded system for precision control system.
