The Indian Institute of Astrophysics, with its headquarters in Bengaluru, is an autonomous research institute wholly financed by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. IIA conducts research primarily in the areas of astronomy, astrophysics and related fields.
Job description: The Selected candidate to work on: Reflective and Refractive glass/metal Optics fabrication in the optics laboratory, Tools development for Optics fabrication, Optical surface Metrology, Optical dimensional Metrology.
Qualification:
Essential: Three years full time course in Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Automobile
Engineering/Instrumentation/Tool and Die making or full time course in B.E/B.Tech in
Mechanical/Instrumentation/Engg. Physics/Applied Optics or Two years full time ITI course with one year apprentice training in Fitter/Turner/Tools & Die Making discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from Central/State Government/ AICTE/NCVT recognized institute.
Desirable:
1) Master Degree in Optics.
2) Professional training in Machine operation such as CNC/CMM/Machine building/Tool
making in Optics fabrication field.
Experience:
Essential: Minimum three Years of working experience related to Optics fabrication or Tools building for Optics fabrication or Conventional and NC Optics Grinder and Polisher operation or experience with CNC/CMM operation after obtaining Diploma/BE/B.Tech./ITI course.
Desirable: Computer knowledge/Documentation/MS office etc.
